We are thrilled to share that Youth Communication swept the Youth Media category in 2022’s Media for a Just Society Awards. All three finalists in the category are YC stories from our writing program, and one finalist in the Book category is YC alumna, Victoria Law! And we’d like to extend a huge congratulations to Amaru Howard for winning this year’s award!

The 2022 Media for a Just Society Awards, sponsored by Evident Change, highlights a variety of media from across the United States that covers child welfare, juvenile justice, and adult justice. YC amplifies youth stories and empowers young people like Amaru, Sirsy, and Miles, whose voices need to be heard. Powerful stories like theirs are incorporated into YC curricula and professional development that impact hundreds of educators annually. YC programs foster strength-based schools and learning communities so teens can see promise and possibility.

Please join us in congratulating Amaru, Sirsy, Miles, and Victoria on this well-deserved recognition for their writing and contribution to youth media and social justice!
