My friends and I copied the idea of creating a group journal using Google Slides from a user on TikTok. The user calls it The Corona Diaries.
Google Slides allows us to express ourselves with writing, pictures, icons, colors, and other kinds of creativity like funny filters. One day I decorated my slide with french fries, broccoli, and fruit because I was seriously craving those foods that day. They are also foods that make me happy.
Whenever we have free time, which is frequently, the six of us “meet” there and journal.
It is also a place to vent and rant. It’s a way for you to see how your friends are coping with the pandemic. The exchange of ideas and feelings help us feel better and closer to one another.
It makes me feel less alone. When one of my friends expressed her frustration about everything, my other friends and I commented, “You got this,” and “We’re here for you.”
To start your own Corona Diaries, make a group chat with your friends to brainstorm about your ideas and then start a Google Slides presentation to work on together, or pick another platform that allows multiple people to work simultaneously.
