Summer Writing Workshop
Are you a teen who loves to write? Who wants to be published? Who wants to help other teens by sharing your personal stories?
If so, please apply to our 42nd Annual Summer Writing Workshop. Workshop participants receive one-on-one mentoring from a professional editor, write stories about their personal experiences, and make friends with other writers. Their stories are published in the award-winning YCteen and Represent magazines, which are read by tens of thousands people each year.
All participants receive a $600 stipend. If we meet in person, a daily MetroCard and $10 for lunch will also be provided. Proper PPE and health guidelines will be followed and enforced.
Application deadline: May 14, 2021
Depending on the COVID situation, the workshop may be held in person at our offices on West 38th Street, over Zoom, or both. If we have to run the workshop remotely, we want to make it as accessible as possible for all prospective New York City teens. Therefore we will provide laptops to participants who do not have them.
