Real As Me: Professional Development session
February 7 @ 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM
“Best Educational Resource” (SEL category), REVERE Award, The Association of American Publishers
Real As Me helps girls strengthen social and emotional skills such as self-awareness, building supportive relationships, and self-management so they can grow into confident young women. True stories by young women who have endured hardship and significant challenges are at the center of Real As Me. Developed in our rigorous teen writing program, the stories activate youths’ desire to discover themselves and think critically about the choices they make— whether they’re as small as what to wear or as big as how to handle an abusive relationship. The lessons help staff create supportive, safe spaces where girls can explore their strengths as young women.
This is a 7-hour Professional Development session that includes a one-hour lunch break.
