In Real Life: Professional Development Session
January 22 @ 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM
Build stronger relationships with the youth you serve. Our strengths-based approach encourages teens to tap their inherent wisdom and harness the resources to build their social and emotional competencies. Based on true stories by real teens in which young people show how they manage and overcome challenges, In Real Life motivates young adults to reflect on personal goals and how to make positive changes in attitudes and behavior. Workshop attendees will have an opportunity to practice: active listening, facilitating group read-alouds, and communication techniques for creating a safe space for teens.
Topics include: Identity development, overcoming challenges, planning for the future, and more.
Every participant receives:
- Professional Development
- Curriculum Guide with structured and scripted lessons
- Anthologies of relevant, award-winning true stories by teens
